Edith Yolanda Gutierrez Vazquez is a joint degree student in the PhD in Demography and Sociology. She is interested in studying how social inequalities are linked to demographic dynamics. Reproductive health and international migration are other areas of her interest. She is currently investigating the changes in labor opportunities of return migrants in Mexico between 1990 and 2010, and how they differ from the internal and non migrant populations. She is also looking at the effects of the change in abortion legislation in Mexico City on fertility and maternal mortality rates.
