Hashim is a joint Ph.D. candidate in Demography and Criminology at the University of Pennsylvania. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Prior to graduate school at Penn, he worked at the Population Council, where he focused on evaluating randomized controlled trials and observational studies for various projects. His current research interests lie at the intersection of population health, violence, and public policy.
