“Since 2005, more than 190 rural hospitals have closed across the United States, and many more are in danger of closing because of financial shortfalls. This problem is only getting worse, with a recent report finding that half of rural hospitals lost more money in the past year, up from 43% in the previous year.” Said Werner in her opening session.
